Boy with black cat (unfinished)

The 1998 flood was a Doozy! The powerful muddy river water swirling around in our home crashed furniture through the living room window. Thus, we lost many items that went whirling through the flood waters.

Several days after the flood, while cleaning up the house and finding items in the yard (and up the street!), I found a cross-stitch piece I had been stitching - wrapped around a bush! Haven't picked it up again to finish but may do so one day.

Mama's Little Helper

Toy Oven Chocolate Cake

6 teaspoons flour
4 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa
3/4 teaspoon shortening
Pinch of salt
6 teaspoons milk

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa, shortening and salt. Add milk. Pour into greased baking pan that comes with the toy oven. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Note: If you don't want a chocolate cake, omit the cocoa and add a drop or two of vanilla with the milk. Makes 1 serving.
